User mapping
User mapping links a workspace member to a specific Odoo user, so STYD can apply that user's areas and companies to the member's answers.
What it is
In Settings → Members → Odoo access, owners and admins pick a Bridge connection and map each workspace member to an Odoo user. The list of Odoo users comes from the Bridge, so the connection must be synced first. Members see only their own Odoo access there.
Invited members do not inherit broad access by default. Until they are mapped, they get no Odoo data from the connection.
Mapping applies to Bridge connections only. An API key connection has one shared Odoo identity: everyone in the workspace sees what the key's Odoo user sees, and there is nothing to map.
What a mapping decides
- The areas the member can ask about. They follow the Odoo user's groups: Accounting, Sales, Purchase and Inventory. Contacts and products are open to every mapped member.
- The companies. Answers use the companies of that Odoo user, never more.
These limits come from the last sync. If the Odoo user's groups or companies change in Odoo, re-sync the connection.
Effective access modes
Mapped
The member is linked to an Odoo user and follows that user's areas and companies.

Not mapped
The member gets no Odoo data from this connection. When they ask an Odoo question, the answer says their account isn't linked to an Odoo user yet and to ask a workspace admin. That answer is free.

Good to know
Mapping requires the Bridge and is managed by owners and admins. It limits the areas and companies of Odoo answers. It does not reproduce every Odoo permission: record rules, for example, are not applied. See Record rules.
A mapping only counts while its Odoo user is in the last synced Odoo directory and active. If that user is removed or deactivated in Odoo, the member is treated as not mapped after the next sync and is told that the linked Odoo user is no longer valid. Settings → Members → Odoo access flags such mappings: choose another Odoo user for the member.
