Overview

STYD for Odoo lets you ask business questions over your Odoo data in plain language and get read-only answers that show the records, filters and period behind them. It uses the same chat and AI Guide as the rest of STYD.

What it is for

Instead of building Odoo reports by hand, you ask a question as you would ask a colleague: who owes us money, what sold last month, which products are low on stock. STYD reads your Odoo data and shows how it got each answer.

What STYD reads in Odoo today

STYD reads these areas of Odoo:

  • contacts (customers and vendors) and products;
  • sales orders and quotations, with their lines;
  • customer invoices, vendor bills and payments;
  • purchase orders, with their lines;
  • stock: quantities, locations, transfers, moves and reorder rules.
STYD does not read CRM (leads, opportunities, the pipeline), Projects or any other Odoo app, such as HR, manufacturing, helpdesk, timesheets or point of sale. A question about them gets a clear “not available yet” reply, even if the Odoo user has full rights. That reply still counts as an answered question and uses a prompt.

On Odoo 15, the delivery status of sales orders, the receipt status of purchase orders and lots or serial numbers are not available. STYD says so instead of guessing; they start with Odoo 16.

If your CRM data is in a PostgreSQL or MySQL database that you connect to STYD, STYD can answer questions about it like about any other database. See CRM insights.

STYD is not Odoo

STYD is a separate assistant that reads your Odoo data to answer questions. It is read-only: it never creates, changes or deletes an Odoo record. STYD is an independent product and is not an official Odoo certification or partnership.

Supported setups

With an Odoo API key, STYD works with Odoo 15 to 20 (Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or on-premise). With the STYD Bridge module, it works with Odoo 15 to 19 on Odoo.sh or on-premise; Odoo Online does not allow custom modules. If Odoo blocks external access on your plan, we’ll tell you clearly.
