Hide tables from users

Hiding tables keeps certain data out of a member's answers. It is useful for sensitive or irrelevant tables, and for keeping the AI focused.

When hiding helps

Irrelevant technical tables that add noise
Sensitive tables such as payroll-like data
System or audit log tables
Confusing duplicates that lead to wrong answers

What hiding does

A table hidden from a member is removed from their view of the AI Guide, and STYD's SQL check refuses any query that reads it for that member. This holds in the chat, through the API and in AI apps. The member gets a plain answer that part of the data is hidden for them, set by the workspace admin. Hiding is managed in the AI Guide (Settings → AI Guide) by owners and admins, one member at a time. New members start with no table hidden.

Still enforce at the source

Hiding reduces visibility inside STYD, but it does not change database or Odoo permissions. For data that genuinely must be protected, enforce it at the database (and in Odoo), then use hiding as an additional safety layer.
