Using business vs DB language

You can ask STYD in your own business language. You do not need to know the database table or column names.

Business language is enough for most questions

Ask the way your team talks. “active customers”, “paid invoices”, “last quarter”. STYD uses AI Guide to map those business terms to the right tables and columns in your database.

Exact database or table names are not required for most users. STYD is designed to work from business meaning.

Technical language can still help

If you are technical and know the data, naming a specific table, column, or field can make a question more precise. STYD can use that detail alongside its own understanding.

When a term is ambiguous

Some business terms can mean more than one thing. When that happens, STYD may ask you to clarify, or make a reasonable choice based on the available metadata and disclose the assumption in the answer. Check those assumptions when they appear.

Teach STYD recurring terms

If a term your team uses is repeatedly misunderstood, improve it rather than rephrasing every time: add a clear description in the AI Guide, or capture the definition in Brief your assistant so future answers use it.
