Refresh strategy

The AI Guide is built when you analyse a database, and you can analyse it again later so STYD keeps up with changes to your schema.

When to refresh

After adding or changing tables or columns in your database.
After connecting a new database: the first analysis starts by itself when it is included in your workspace’s AI Guide setups. If it would cost prompts, STYD shows the price and waits for an owner or admin to confirm; the database already works in Chat meanwhile.
When STYD seems unaware of structure you know exists.

What a refresh updates

Re-analysis rediscovers tables and columns and writes AI descriptions for new columns and for tables that have none yet or gained a column, so STYD understands the current shape of your database.

Your reviewed work is protected: the descriptions you saved are kept and are not overwritten by a later analyzer run.

What a refresh does not do

  • It does not change your database permissions.
  • It does not guarantee perfect answers — it improves understanding, not certainty.
  • It does not undo your visibility choices or your descriptions.

Time and cost

Analysing again costs prompts: about 1 prompt for every 500 columns, at least 1, shown before you confirm. Only the first analysis of a database can be included, as one of your workspace’s AI Guide setups (1 for a workspace without a plan; with a plan the number renews every month: see Pricing). Regenerating the database summary costs 1 prompt. Analysis can take some time on larger databases, so refresh when something has actually changed, rather than repeatedly. The AI Guide shows the analyzer status while it runs.

Odoo connections have no analysis and cost nothing: use Re-sync.
