Installation

This page covers the STYD Bridge module: installing it, connecting it with a token, and syncing your Odoo access. No database credentials are needed. On Odoo Online, connect with an Odoo API key instead (see Odoo connection).

The high-level path

1. Install the bridge
Install the STYD Odoo Bridge from Odoo Apps, choosing the listing for your Odoo version (15, 16, 17, 18 or 19).
2. Generate a token in Odoo
In Odoo, open Speak To Your Database → Connection Setup and generate a bridge token (shown once, so copy it).
3. Create the connection in STYD
In Settings → Connections, choose New connection → Odoo Bridge, paste your Odoo base URL (a public HTTPS address) and token, Test, then Save.
4. Sync access and map users
Saving the connection syncs Odoo access (re-sync any time from its card in Settings → Connections). Then map workspace members to Odoo users in Settings → Members → Odoo access, so answers follow their Odoo rights and companies.

Supported deployments

Self-hosted Odoo
Odoo.sh
The bridge is a custom module, so it needs Odoo.sh or an on-premise Odoo: Odoo Online does not allow custom modules. On Odoo Online, connect with an Odoo API key (Odoo 15 and later). If Odoo blocks external access on your plan, we’ll tell you clearly.
Your Odoo must be reachable at a public HTTPS address. Plain http and private or local network addresses (localhost, 10.x, 172.16–31.x, 192.168.x, .local) are refused. Publish a self-hosted Odoo on a public HTTPS domain, for example behind a reverse proxy.

What to prepare

  • access to the Odoo server or repository to install the module (usually an Odoo admin or developer task)
  • your Odoo major version, so you install the matching module listing
  • your Odoo base URL (a public HTTPS address) and a generated bridge token
The bridge is versioned by Odoo major version, install the listing (or module folder) that matches your Odoo. In Odoo's Apps screen the module is called styd_odoo_bridge. The full, step-by-step server installation is on the Bridge module page; this page is the user-facing overview.
