API access

API access lets your own tools and automations call STYD. It is available on every plan.

What it enables

External tools and backends can send questions to STYD and receive answers. This is useful for automations, internal tools and custom workflows. Each answer uses one prompt of the workspace, as in the chat.

Keys and safety

API keys are created per workspace, by an owner or admin.
Any workspace can create keys, with or without a plan; calls use prompts.
A workspace can hold up to 5 active keys.
A new key is shown in full only once. Copy it then.
Keys can be revoked, and revoked keys stop working immediately.
Keys are sent in the x-api-key request header.
Treat keys like passwords. The Security section covers safe handling, and the API section covers authentication and endpoints.

Availability

API access is included in every plan; calls need prompts. Endpoint details are documented in the API section.
