Chat limitations

STYD is powerful, but it is not magic. Knowing its limits helps you get reliable answers and avoid misreading a result.

It depends on your data and permissions

Figures about your business come only from the data in the connected source and your documents, and only within the access you have been granted. If the data is not there, or your access does not include it, STYD cannot return it. It says so and, when useful, adds general guidance labelled General knowledge, never invented figures.

It may not know your business definitions

Unless a definition has been configured or taught (for example in the Brief your assistant), STYD may interpret a business term differently from how your team means it. Spelling out what you mean helps.

Ambiguous questions may need clarification

A vague question can have several valid interpretations. STYD may ask you to clarify, or make a reasonable assumption that it discloses in the answer, check those assumptions.

Empty results can mean several things

There is genuinely no matching data.
The data exists but is restricted or hidden from you.
The question did not match the data as asked, try rephrasing.

General answers have limits too

They come from general knowledge, not from your data, and may be out of date: check laws, rates and prices.
On legal, tax, medical or investment topics they give general principles only, with a line saying who to check with.
They do not know your internal rules unless you uploaded them as documents.
STYD writes drafts but never sends them, and never changes your data.

See General questions and advice.

What STYD is not

STYD is a data assistant with general business knowledge, not a substitute for professional accounting, legal, or business judgment. Validate important figures before acting on them. STYD also will not bypass your access controls, and it may decline a request that is unsafe or unsupported.
